This Old House has installed Harvey products in several homes they featured on their television show. During their 35th anniversary season, TOH worked on homes in Charlestown, MA, Lexington, MA, and Hopkinton, NH.
General contractor Tom Silva and the crew renovated the youngest house ever featured on the show: a 1966 Garrison Colonial, in Lexington, MA. We were honored that they chose to install Harvey Majesty wood windows in the upstairs addition! This Old House visited our Londonderry, NH manufacturing plant and filmed windows being made for the Lexington project. This Old House also restored an 1850 Greek Revival row house in Boston’s historic Charlestown, MA. At the end of third show in this series Harvey Majesty wood windows were delivered, and throughout the rest of the series there were glimpses of the new Harvey windows. For their final project that year, This Old House partnered with Homes for Our Troops (HFOT) to build and outfit a house in Hopkinton, New Hampshire, for a wounded Iraq War veteran. Premium Tribute vinyl rolling windows were installed in SSG DeWitt’s specially adapted home. In addition, Harvey staff members assembled DeWitt’s children’s play system, donated by Rainbow Play Systems, Inc. You can find the entire five episode special, for which they won a Daytime Emmy Award, on Homes for Our Troops’ website.
Our Harvey Vigilance impact-resistant window also made it to the stage of The Tonight Show! Tom Silva and the guys explained the difference between plate glass and impact-resistant glass on The Tonight Show. Then Jimmy Fallon threw a brick at our Vigilance impact-resistant window to demonstrate its strength.
