- On June 9, 1961 Harvey Industries becomes incorporated; its first office opens in Dorchester, MA.
- Established by former Alcoa representatives Bob Morrison and Fred Bigony, along with former Harvey Window Corporation owner Bernard Mendelsohn, Harvey Industries gets its start as a wholesale distributor of aluminum remodeling products.
- Although plans for manufacturing their own aluminum siding never materialized, the three instead focus on expanding their distribution offerings to include roofing, gutters, handrails and ceiling panels, to name a few.
- Needing additional space, Harvey moves into the old Waltham Door and Window Co. building at 39 Emerson Road.
- Harvey becomes Bird's first vinyl siding distributor.
- By the mid '60s, Harvey becomes one of the largest distributors of Alcoa's aluminum siding. Alcoa stops doing business with seven other distributors in Boston to concentrate on selling only through Harvey.
- Bob and Fred design the Combination Basement Window, making Harvey Industries the second company in the US to manufacture that product. They sell 50,000 units its first year of production.
- Bob and Fred buy the Carefree Window and Panorama Door Line equipment from Harvey Window Corporation.
- The Harvey Profit Sharing Plan is established to provide financial security for Harvey employees.
- Harvey builds its first warehouse in Manchester, NH and opens another in Braintree, MA.
- Alan Marlow joins Harvey.
- Harvey begins distributing GAF, Girardin, Bird roofing, CertainTeed vinyl siding and Clark coil.
- Warehouses open in Dartmouth (MA), Woburn (MA), Framingham (MA), Brockton (MA), and Salem (NH).
- Harvey constructs a new corporate office in Waltham, MA.
- Governor King attends the opening of Harvey's new manufacturing plant in Woburn, MA.
- Harvey builds a new manufacturing plant in Manchester, NH.
- Vinyl windows and painted steel doors become part of Harvey's manufacturing mix, initiating the start of the Construction Products Division.
- The distribution blend expands to include commercial roofing (Dibiten, RPI, Atlas) and builders products (Andersen, Velux, Therma-Tru). Mastic, Tapco, Mid-America, Tamko and BP Roofing also become Harvey suppliers.
- Harvey begins to market and sell windows and doors under the Harvey name, replacing the former Carefree trademarks.
- The Classic vinyl replacement window is introduced.
